I live very very near to Riccione and I can give you some informations. During August is not so simple to find a free bedroom or a free camping place, of course it's better to reserve a place. The hotel or pension prices are not high, this zone is one of the cheapest cities of Italy for summer holiday... anyway the hotel is more expensive than camping. Riccione is a small city, so don't worry if you don't find an hotel near the sea, all pensions/hotels are quite near to everything.
